Jamie Patton, UW Extension Shawano County
Jamie brings her wealth of cover crop knowledge from years of work in Missouri and Wisconsin. Jamie will start the day introducing the concept of soil health management systems, including the use of cover crops.
10:45 am Kevin Fermanich, UW Green Bay
Kevin has been an instrumental figure working in the Fox River Watershed projects evaluating soil health and water quality. Kevin will discuss results from these projects. He will also show how soil infiltration and soil density is measured using modern tools in real field conditions.

This session will be leading the group through the 6 soil pits, evaluating the benefits of each species of cover crops in the terms of recycling nutrients or building soil health.

Joe Johnson will discuss cover crop cost sharing options and the work that USDA has been completing in Kewaunee County.
