Peninsula Pride Farms is offering members four cost share program to assist in the implementation of practices designed to protect surface and/or groundwater quality. The board of directors decided that these programs should be offered to the membership and that farmers can decide which programs they want to experiment with in 2018. Farmers can participate in one, two, three or all four of these programs, but the cost share dollars are capped at $1,500 per member.
Cost share programs offered in 2018 include:
- Cover Crops,
- Harvestable Buffers (this is a multi-year agreement),
- Split applications of nitrogen, and
- Depth of soil over bedrock testing.
