Conservation Conversation – Aug 29

Join us from 5-6 p.m. on Tue. Aug. 29 for our Conservation Conversation.

Attendees will listen to a Bark Bed Bioreactor presentation on Kinnard Farms. Matt Komisky, USGS, will be presenting.

The system is designed to remove nitrate that leaves the root zone of a field and ends up being discharged via tile lines. The bark bed acts as a carbon source that converts dissolved nitrogen into atmospheric nitrogen- with the gas being released harmlessly back into the atmosphere.

Hosted by Kinnard Farms

Location: Just south of Duvall Cemetary on Duvall Rd.

Look for PPF signs. All are welcome; no RSVP required.

Sponsored by Peninsula Pride Farms and the Door-Kewaunee Watershed Demonstration Farm Network
